For Canadian accounting & bookkeeping firms
Your clients stay yours.
The bookkeeping becomes ours.
apar is the team working behind your firm. We handle full-cycle bookkeeping — accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries and the chart of accounts — under your brand, reviewed under CPA supervision. Your client never has a conversation with anyone but you.
- White-label. Every deliverable carries your firm's name, not ours.
- No solicitation. We never contact your clients. It is in the agreement.
- Reviewed work. Internal review under CPA supervision before handoff.
The bind
You are not short on clients. You are short on hours.
Most firm owners we speak to are turning work away — or taking it on and absorbing it personally at 9pm. The obvious fix is hiring, and hiring is slow, expensive, and a fixed cost you carry through every quiet month.
Growth costs a hire
The next few clients need another bookkeeper. That is a recruiting cycle, a training ramp, and a salary that does not flex when the work does.
Processing eats the calendar
Transaction entry, coding, chasing missing receipts, hunting unmatched items. Necessary work — and the lowest-value hours in the building.
Turnover resets everything
When a bookkeeper leaves, the file knowledge leaves too. Rebuilding it costs months and it is the client who feels the difference.
What we handle
Full-cycle bookkeeping, end to end
Not a task here and there — the whole cycle, so nothing lands back on your desk half-finished.
Accounts payable
Bills entered, coded and aged — so your client always knows what they owe and when.
DetailsAccounts receivable
Invoices out, receipts applied, and an aging report that reflects reality.
DetailsBank and credit card reconciliations
Every account, every period, reconciled to the statement — not to a plug.
DetailsJournal entries
Accruals, prepaids, amortization and payroll entries — posted with support attached.
DetailsChart of accounts
A structure the client’s statements can actually be read from.
DetailsMonth-end close package
One predictable handoff each period, ready for your review.
DetailsWhy firms use us
Capacity that does not cost you the relationship
Your brand, start to finish
Every file, report and working paper carries your firm’s name. Your clients experience your firm delivering the work — because that is exactly what is happening.
Capacity without payroll
Take on the next five clients without a hiring cycle, a training ramp, or the fixed cost of a salary you have to cover in a slow quarter.
Work that survives turnover
Procedures for each file are documented, so knowledge lives in the process rather than in one person’s head. Continuity does not depend on who is available this month.
Canadian files, Canadian context
We work in Canadian books every day — GST/HST tracking, provincial sales tax coding, CRA-facing documentation habits, and the reporting your firm actually needs at year end.
How it works
Five steps, starting with one file
You do not have to restructure your practice to start. One client file, one month, at the standard rate.
- 01
A 20-minute call
You describe the files that are eating your team’s week — how many, what software, what shape they are in. We tell you plainly whether we are a fit. No deck, no discovery process, no pressure to commit.
- 02
Start on one file
Your first engagement is a single client file at the standard monthly rate. Starting narrow is how your firm’s conventions get documented properly before volume arrives — and it means that by the end of the first period you are judging us on a real close package rather than on a promise.
- 03
Onboarding on your terms
We work inside your systems, with the access level you set. Client-specific rules, coding conventions and review preferences get written down once, so the same standard survives whoever is on the file.
- 04
A monthly rhythm
An agreed cutoff date, an agreed delivery date. Transactions are processed through the period, the close package is prepared, and questions are batched into one list instead of arriving as a stream of interruptions.
- 05
Reviewed before it reaches you
Nothing is handed back until it has been through a documented internal review under CPA supervision. You are reviewing finished work, not correcting first drafts.
Oversight
Reviewed under CPA supervision
Bookkeeping is only as good as the review behind it. Work at apar is performed under the supervision of a Chartered Professional Accountant, and files go through a documented internal review before they are handed back to your firm. You receive work that has already been checked — which is what makes it worth delegating in the first place.
apar is a bookkeeping services provider, not a licensed public accounting firm. We do not provide audit, review or other assurance services, and we do not file tax returns. Professional advice, filings and sign-off remain the responsibility of your firm.
Straight answers
The questions we get on every call
Will you approach or solicit my clients?
No. We do not contact your clients, and we do not solicit them during the engagement or after it ends. That commitment is written into our agreement as a non-solicitation clause, not left as a handshake. Your client relationship is the asset you are protecting, and it is the entire reason our model works.
Whose name does the work go out under?
Yours. We are a behind-the-scenes team. Working papers, close packages and reports are prepared for your firm to deliver under your own brand. We have no client-facing presence on your engagements at all.
Who reviews the work before it comes back to me?
Files go through a documented internal review under the supervision of a Chartered Professional Accountant before they are handed back. You are receiving reviewed work, which is the difference between delegating a task and delegating a result.
Do you handle GST/HST, PST or WCB filings?
We do not file returns — those stay with your firm. What we do is keep the underlying ledger accurate: sales tax is tracked and coded correctly through the period and reconciled to the accounts, so when your firm prepares the filing, the numbers are already supportable. Tax filing, professional advice and sign-off remain your firm’s responsibility.
What software do you work in?
Yours. We work inside your existing stack rather than asking you to migrate — QuickBooks Online, Xero and Sage for the ledger, with Dext or Hubdoc for document capture. If you run something else, ask on the call; it is usually a short answer either way.
Start with one file.
Put one client file through a single period at the standard rate. You review the close package and decide whether there is a second. That is the entire commitment.
